Charge Ring in New Year with Win

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The Cleveland Charge led wire-to-wire in a 115-103 victory over the Westchester Knicks on Monday night.

Cleveland’s Jamorko Pickett set the tone early by hitting 6-of-8 first quarter shots and scoring 16 of his team’s 37 points to help open up a 17 point lead.  The Charge would lead by as many as 33 and by no less than 9 over the final three quarters for their second road victory of the season.  Pickett finished with 24 points and nine rebounds in 27 minutes.  Sharife Cooper had his 7th 30+ point scoring game, netting 34 points on 12-of-16 shooting with six assists and two steals in 25 minutes.  Rashad Vaughn had a season-high 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench, while Gabe Osabuohien nabbed a season-best 10 rebounds with two steals.

James Akinjo scored a game-high 35 points with six boards, six assists and three steals in 37 minutes for the Knicks.  Garrison Brooks posted a double-double of 20 points and 10 boards in 29 minutes.  DaQuan Jeffries added 17 points and five rebounds.
