Milwaukee Bucks Tip Off Black History Month Celebrations On Feb. 4 vs. Miami Heat

Bucks to amplify stories of Milwaukee’s Bronzeville neighborhood and celebrate people and organizations in the community during February

The Milwaukee Bucks will tip off Black History Month celebrations on Feb. 4 when they host the Miami Heat at Fiserv Forum at 7 p.m. The Black History Month game will highlight stories of Milwaukee’s past and celebrate people and organizations in the community.

The first 14,000 fans in attendance will receive the second cap in the BMO Bucks Cap Series Giveaway. Designed by Jrue Holiday, the hat was inspired by the team’s 2022-23 City Edition uniform, which celebrates the Patchwork Mural in Milwaukee’s Bronzeville community. Holiday also detailed the underbrim of his cap to feature a number of Milwaukee-based, Black-owned businesses. For more information on the BMO Bucks Cap Series, visit Bucks.com/BMOCapSeries.

During the game, a Small Business Marketplace with HYFIN will be set up on the upper concourse outside of Section 201 featuring Milwaukee-based, Black-owned businesses. The businesses include Birdsongs, Bronzeville Collective and Soul Brew Kombucha. Three organizations – MKE Black, Bronzeville Center for the Arts and HYFIN – will also be represented.

The Bucks will show video spotlights throughout the game celebrating Milwaukee’s historic Bronzeville community and its changemakers. In addition, there will be a spoken word performance at halftime by Milwaukee-native Apollo Q. The custom-written piece, titled “A Buck Freestyle,” incorporates his story and the City of Milwaukee’s Bronzeville neighborhood. He will be accompanied by pianist Antoine Reynolds and a video with imagery relating to the poem.

An exclusive Black History Month t-shirt will be available for purchase at the Bucks Pro Shop at Fiserv Forum and www.shop.bucks.com. A portion of the proceeds will benefit America’s Black Holocaust Museum

Limited tickets are still available at www.bucks.com/single.
